Mary Bernice Coons, died unexpectedly and peacefully on October 4, 2025. She was born in Saratoga Springs, NY on August 14th, 1965. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering love.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved to spend time with all her family and at family gatherings she stood out with her warm smile. She had a love for music, especially the band Rush.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Jessica Camille Coons; her grandchildren: Athena Mouity, Angetone Mouity II, Julion Mouity, and Jannessa Mouity; siblings: Joyce Coons, Cathleen Coons, and Melissa (Brian) Carr; along with beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, family, and friends and each of whom she adored. She was predeceased by her long-time fiancé Kevin Hentnik; her parents Camille Nappi, Richard Santee; and her grandparents Samual and Bernice Nappi.

Mary will be remembered for her radiant smile, her kind words, and her ability to make everyone feel loved. Though she is no longer with us in body, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Calling hours will be held on October 18, 2025, from 10:30am to 12:00pm at Goddard- Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James St. Syracuse, NY 13206. Following at 1:00pm a mass will be held at St Joseph’s Church of Camillus, 5600 Genesee St, Camillus, NY 13031.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations to help cover expenses be made to Jessica Coons, 2607 Midland Ave, Syracuse NY 13205.
