Hilde B. Prior, of East Syracuse, passed away on July 18th, 2025. 

She was a graduate of Eastwood High School.  She formerly worked as a secretary for many years at Georgia Pacific Lumber Company and J.S. Woodhouse Farm Machinery. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a Past President of the Eastwood American Legion Auxiliary Post #1276. She was an active member of the Keener Senior Center in East Syracuse and the Eastwood Community Center where she enjoyed playing cards. She also belongs to the DeFrancisco Senior Center. She was an avid reader and enjoyed word puzzles.

She was predeceased by her husband George; beloved grandson Andrew; parents Nick and Pauline; brothers John and Joseph; sisters Jean, Rose Marie “Roz” Piston and Tillie Meehan.

She is survived by her two sons: David J. (Rose) Prior of Camillus and Greg G. (Laurie Fernalld) Prior of Utica; grandchildren, John (Jill), Mark (Christine), and Samantha; her wonderful great grandchildren, Drew, Will, Evelyn and Duke Prior; many nieces, nephews and her cousins in France; all of her good friends at her summer cottage in Henderson, NY; special and dearest friends: Terry and Roseanne Kresser; extended family: Michael and Sarah Plis, Grace and Jimmy Piazza, Jenna Fagut and Anthony Cifaratta who she helped raise in their early years.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Brookdale Summerfield, Crouse Hospital ICU and Palliative Care.

Funeral services will be held privately.
