Obituary of Dolores M. York
Dolores M. York, born on March 10, 1947, in Syracuse, New York, was the beloved daughter of Stanley and Ann Migdal. She passed away surrounded by her loving family after a life defined by devotion, care, and deep connection to those she loved.
Dolores was married to Lester J. York for 57 amazing and loving years. Together, they raised three children: Amy, Jason, and Matthew; instilling in them the values of kindness, loyalty, and the importance of family.
She was the proud and loving grandmother of five grandchildren: Sean, Jack, and Matthew (children of Amy), and Lucinda and Julia (children of Matthew). Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them, always eager to hear about their lives and celebrate their milestones.
Dolores is survived by her devoted husband Lester; her children; her five grandchildren; and her siblings: Michael Migdal and Thomas Migdal, Theresa Kimber, and Michelle Anastasi.
If you knew Dolores and the York family, you knew their door was always open. Whether you were stopping by to say hello, share a meal, grab a drink, or just have a good conversation, you were always welcomed with warmth and generosity. Their home was a gathering place, a safe haven, and a reflection of Dolores's spirit: open-hearted, inviting, and full of love.
She never missed a chance to celebrate Christmas, filling every room of the house with decorated trees, never fewer than a dozen. It was a season she brought to life with unmatched joy and attention to detail, creating memories that her family and friends will always treasure.
Throughout her life, Dolores touched many with her warmth, compassion, and unwavering love. Her bond with Lester and her children was unbreakable. She found immense joy in simply staying connected; calling, checking in, and making sure everyone was doing well and most of all hearing all of their stories! Being a mother was central to who she was, and she never stopped caring, wondering, and worrying no matter how grown her children became.
Dolores also found great fulfillment in her work with the Catholic Church, where she dedicated many years of service. Her faith and the community she found there brought her peace and purpose.
She will be remembered for her generous heart, her deep love for family, and the many lives she quietly enriched through her kindness and presence.
