James J. Touranjoe Jr., of Liverpool, died peacefully at his home on December 24th, 2024. James was born on December 8th, 1930, in Watertown, NY. He was predeceased by his parents James and Laura (Vailate) Touranjoe, and his sister Barbara (Touranjoe) Haas. James was a Korean War Veteran (1948-1952) with the 187th Airborne Infantry Regiment (Rakkasans), with one combat jump at Munsan-ni, South Korea. He retired after working as a machinist for 38 years at Young and Franklin Inc. He was also the custodian of voting machines for the Town of Clay, a member of the Elks Lodge #31, a member of the American Legion 188, a member of the VFW Post 5540 in Phoenix, and a member of Syracuse Turners. He was a communicant of Epiphany Parish Catholic Church in Liverpool. His family includes his wife of 72 years, Dolores J. (Bishop) Touranjoe; daughters Elaine Fish of Manlius NY, Jayne (Tim) Sherman of Woodbridge VA, sons David (Colleen) of Liverpool NY, Daryl of Charlotte NC, and Steven (Colleen) of Waxhaw NC; 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and four wonderful nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Epiphany Parish Catholic Church have been postponed. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to local food pantries and the Humane Society.
