Mary Ann Jevis Obituary

Mary (Drabot) Jevis, 100, went home to be with her Lord on March 31, 2025.

Mary was born on January 12, 1925, to Walter and Valeria Drabot. Mary was a lifelong communicant of Transfiguration Church and very much enjoyed her time volunteering for the many functions at the church.

In 1944, she married Benjamin Jevis. Together they raised six children. Mary dedicated her life to her family and never wanted anything more than the best for them. Mary was a strong, determined, and generous person. She took great pleasure in cooking traditional Polish meals for her family on the Holidays.

Mary was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ben in 1987, her son Randy in 2019, son-in-law Peter Opperman in 2021, granddaughter Nicole Roberts in 2024, as well as her brothers, Alex, Walter, and Joseph Drabot.

She is survived by her children: Patricia (Michael) Alivero, Sandra Opperman, William (Margaret) Jevis, daughter in law Eileen Jevis, Maryellen D’Agostino (Michael Brigandi), Mark (Kathy) Jevis; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her Drabot cousins whom she loved dearly.

Mary’s family would also like to thank the dedicated healthcare professionals who helped them care for Mary.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 4 at 10:00am at Transfiguration Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt, NY. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
