John A. “Jack” Snyder, 93, a former resident of Eastwood, passed away with his family at his side on February 9, 2025 in North Carolina. He was a graduate of Assumption High School in 1950 and married his high school sweet heart in 1952. Jack was a veteran of the US Army and served in Korea.
Jack had retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and also worked for Modern Woodman, LCBA, Batesville Casket Company and the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home. He loved sports, especially golf and softball. Most of all he loved his family.
He was pre-deceased by his parents George and Mary Snyder; son Michael P. Snyder, sisters: Arlene Crowe, Ann Renaud; brothers: Donald and George.
He is survived by his loving wife Joan; daughters: Linda (Chet) Wysocki, Lori (Thomas) Ward; sisters: Mary Kalil, JoAnn (Bob) Rendino, Donna (Ed) Carolin; grandchildren: Jason Wysocki, Kristen McConaughey, Matthew Wysocki, Stephanie Edwards, Kaitlin Howard, Colleen Fleming; great grandchildren: Connor, Charlotte and Collin McConaughey, Jacob, Lauren and Molly Howard, Eva Edwards.
The funeral mass will be Saturday, February 22 at 10:30am in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 21 from 4-6pm at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
