Mara T. Hile, 97, passed away on January 30, 2025 at her home in Cato, NY. She was born in Germany and came to America with her late husband, Paul. They settled in Clearfield, PA and then moved to Syracuse. She was a member of James Street United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Joined the church choir and taught Sunday school for 30 years. She helped with the Preschool in the church and was a Girl Scout leader many years. Mara and husband, Paul, started the Industrial Park Cleaners business. They moved to Cato in 1983. Mara's husband passed away in 1997.

Mara is preceded by her parents, George and Anna Ernst from Germany. She is survived by her 6 kids: Raimund (Carol) Hile, Karen (Jasiu) Sobiegraj, Cinthia (Dennis) Pratt, Linda (Terry) Archer, Steven (Joyce) Hile, and Pamela (Mike) Bilger. Mara has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Calling hours for Mara are on March 9th, 2-4, followed by a brief service at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home. Private burial at the White Chapel Cemetery.
