Kathryn M. Nolan, 86, a native and life resident of the Syracuse area, died on Thursday, July 23 at Francis House. Kay graduated from Blessed Sacrament grammar school, The Convent High School and Central City Business Institute (CCBI). While attending CCBI, she was the secretary to the principal. Upon graduation, she ran the local district office for Bliss and Laughlin Steel Co. Kay was a talented piano player and artist. She was pre-deceased by her husband William Nolan, who was a head carpenter for Ed Irish Construction Co. Kay is survived by her sisters: Mrs. Mary Extale of East Syracuse, Mrs. Eileen (Darold) Cole of Jacksonville, FL; her brother Thomas (Sharon) Murphy of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 9AM in Blessed Sacrament Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Minoa.
