Nadine Ann Nicotra, 37, a resident of Syracuse NY, went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2021 after a struggle with unmanageable, chronic illness. She was a faithful Christian and previously attended North Central Assembly of God. Her name meant “hope” and her family would like her to be remembered for her ability to selflessly uplift others when they were downtrodden. She worked as a teacher specializing in Literacy Education at West Middle School in Binghamton NY. Nadine was also a sweet, devoted daughter, sister, niece, and friend. Her charitable spirit always sought to dutifully offer guidance and support to loved ones, colleagues, and people in need that she came across. She would often delight in extending the simplest of gestures just to put a smile on someone’s face. Nadine loved socializing with her family and friends through expressing her vibrant personality and sharing her homemade cooking. She showed extra support for her students through attending school activities like basketball games and dances. Nadine also contributed to her school’s various theatrical productions. In her free time she also enjoyed activities such as writing, reading, singing, jazz and tap dancing, shooting pool, beach outings, hiking, fishing, traveling, and going on adventures to visit new places. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Joseph (Angeline) Nicotra and Vincent (Frances) Galluzzo, aunt, Diane Federico. She is survived by her mother, Karen Nicotra; father, Joseph S. Nicotra; step-mother, Carol Blair Nicotra; brother, Joseph V. Nicotra; uncle and aunt, Richard (Joanne Nicotra) Zampino; uncle and aunt, Vincent (Cheryl) Galluzzo; uncle Joseph Federico; and six cousins.
