Catherine M. Fowler, 82, of Eastwood died on Monday at her home.  Mrs. Fowler had worked for over 30 years as a switchboard operator at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and a former Bible Study Teacher.  She enjoyed camping, traveling and playing the Penny Slots at the Casino.  
Her husband Oscar, whom she married on December 27, 1954, died in 2004.  She was also pre-deceased by her brothers: Jackie and Billy O’Neill.
She is survived by her daughters: Louise “Louann” Wilson of Richmond, VA, Colleen Thurner of Syracuse, Susan Dora of Moira, NY, Mary Walts of Denver, CO; sons: Ed of Syracuse, Tom (Meghan) of Marcellus; brother: Bernard (Della) O’Neill; sister: Teresa (Terry) Collins; 20 grandchildren: 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Saturday at 8:30am at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 9am in Blessed Sacrament Church.  Burial will be in Onondaga County Veteran’s Cemetery.  Calling hours are Friday from 4-8pm at the funeral home, 3111 James St.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
