Alice E. Bleich, 100, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully Thursday at Iroquois Nursing Home. Born in 1916 to William and Nellie Dunham, she grew up on the family farm in Mattydale. She later moved to Lyncourt when she married her best friend Robert C. Bleich, who predeceased her in 1975. After 28 years of elected service, Alice retired from her position as the receiver of taxes in the town of Salina. Alice is survived by a daughter; Nancy E. (David) Hobbs, nephews that she raised as her own sons; George Fordyce and Stanley (Sue) Fordyce. Granddaughters; Lori (Gregory) Clos and Brenda (John) Haggett. Three great-grandchildren; Albert (Samara) Clos, Emily Clos and Zach Haggett, and two great-great-grandchildren, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at noon on Monday at Welter-Price Funeral Home, with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. Internment will be immediately afterwards at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ismrd.org, in the honor of Zach Haggett.
