Obituary of Jean M. Gould

Jean Marilyn Gould died peacefully at her home on August 5, 2017 in Bloomfield, CT at the age of 89.
Jean is survived by her son, William (Carole) Gould of Guilderland, NY,  her sister Leona Whincup, her niece Laura Whincup both of Derry, NH, her granddaughter, Tabitha Mercedes and her great grandson Shea Mercedes of Schenectady, NY.  Also survived by her life long friend Doris Higab of Syracuse, NY ,  a nephew, grandniece and great grandniece.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Ernest Gould of Swampscott, MA and her brother Ernest (Buzz) Gould of CA. 
Jean was born on July 17, 1928 in Swampscott, MA. She attended Boston University College earning a degree in chemistry. After moving to Syracuse, Jean began working for Bristol Myers as a pharmaceutical chemist for 37 years.   She lived to Arizona for many years till she moved to Connecticut in 2004.  She loved traveling and studying History of Mid-East Orthodox religion and modern Neuro Psychology.  Jean was a member of many religious communities, New Camaldoli Hermitage, Christ Church Cathedral, Holy Cross Monastery, Friends of St. Benedict and All Saint Sisters of the Poor. 
A funeral is scheduled for Friday at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, with a reception to follow. Visitation will be at the Welter-Price funeral Home, Inc., James St., From 12:30 to 1:30. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jean’s life. Memorial donations in Jean’s name can be sent to Hospice od CNY 997  7th North Road Liverpool, NY 13088.
