James Stephen Cheslik April 3, 2017 James Stephen Cheslik, 68, of Syracuse, died on Sunday at Francis House from A.L.S. He graduated from Central Tech in 1966 and was a veteran of the US Navy. Jim was the owner of J.S. Cheslik Property Services for 20 years. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Church, a former member of the parish council of St. Stephen Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 6282 and a Fourth Degree Grand Knight. His son Andrew has pre-deceased him. He is survived his wife of 30 years Kathy (Delaney) Cheslik; brothers: John (Mary) of Niskayuna, NY, Michael of Syracuse; brother-in law Paul (Pat) Delaney of Liverpool, James Delaney of Minoa and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 12noon at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 12:30in Transfiguration Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 10am-12 at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. The Cheslik family would like to thank the staff at Francis House for their care and compassion they provided to Jim. Memorial contributions may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Avenue, Syracuse 13208.
