Obituary of Ann Egan Dalgety

Ann E. Dalgety died peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Loretto. Ann was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School and The University of Buffalo. She also attended Syracuse University. She worked as a dental hygienist in the North Syracuse School District for several years. Once her children were born, she was a stay at home mom. She could often be found volunteering at her children's schools. Once her children were in their teens she began working as a secretary in The Syracuse City School district until she retired in 2000. Ann loved spending time with her family. Most summers were spent renting camps on Otisco Lake with her sisters and their families. Countless hours were spent around the table playing card games, laughing and enjoying a cocktail or two. Ann also cherished her childhood friends and the bond they still share to this day. She loved SU basketball and crossword puzzles. She was pre-deceased by her husband John “Jack” Dalgety, sisters: Connie Egan and Carol Tighe Ann is survived by her 2 sons: John E. (Kathleen) of Onondaga, Daniel P. (Melissa) of Liverpool; 2 daughters: Sheila Kallfelz of Onondaga Hill, Mary Bridget (Steve) Stonecypher of Central Square; a sister Kate Michel of Camillus; grandchildren: Kara & Allison Kallfelz; Jack, Maggie, Bobby, Charlie Dalgety; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:15 at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 at the funeral home, 3111 James Street. Memorial donations may be made to The Dalgety Twins Supplemental Needs Trust, c/o Robert Lavelle, 4004 Arrowhead Lane, Liverpool 13090.
