Obituary of Virginia Sheridan

Virginia LaMontagne Sheridan, 98, a life-long resident of Syracuse, died on Saturday. Virginia graduated from St. Vincent dePaul High School and received her RN from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, and a Bachelor Degree from Syracuse University and served as a nurse with the US Navy during WWII. Mrs. Sheridan had worked as a City of Syracuse Public Health Nurse, a school nurse teacher for the Syracuse City School District, and was a first grade teacher. She had been a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Church her entire life. She is pre-deceased by her husband Bernard J. Sheridan, her parents: Arthur and Mary Kelly LaMontagne, sister Catherine O’Neill and brother Arthur LaMontagne Jr.. She is survived by her son Mark B. Sheridan of NYC; daughter Anne (Wallace) Sheridan of Boston; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9AM at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home and 9:30 in St. Vincent dePaul Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7pm at the funeral home, 3111 James St. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent dePaul Building Fund, 342 Vine Street, Syracuse 13203.
