Philip Guinto September 9, 2016 Philip Guinto, of Eastwood, passed away on Friday at Crouse Hospital at the age of 81. Mr. Guinto had worked for over 30 years as a chef at the Hotel Syracuse and the Marietta House. He was a veteran of the US Army. Mr. Guinto was an avid patron of the Turning Stone Casino. He was a loving and devoted, husband, father, and grandfather; who enjoyed cooking for his family. He was pre-deceased by his childhood sweet heart and wife of 54 years, Joan, who died in 2009. He is survived by two sons: Carmen (Nancy) Guinto of Atlanta, Bernard (Brenda) Guinto of Syracuse; a daughter, Katherine (Robert) Mungo of East Syracuse; four grandchildren: Philip and Matthew Guinto, Alexandra and Jack Mungo; a great grandson Bernard Philip Guinto; a sister Fran Hurwitz of Myrtle Beach, SC; and several nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 5-6:30pm on Monday at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home with a service at the conclusion.
