Obituary of Andrew Paul DeSocio

Andrew P. DeSocio July 12, 2016 Andrew P. DeSocio, age 44, passed away July 12, 2016, of natural causes. Mr. DeSocio is survived by a wife, Jennifer; a son, Nicolas DeSocio; and two step- children: Hunter and Jordan Peterson. He also leaves behind his parents Edward & Judy DeSocio; brother Edward DeSocio; his sister Linda Whitcomb and brother in-law Brian Whitcomb. Andrew is a 24 year Air Force/Air National Guard Veteran where he earned several medals, including: Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Global War on Terrorism and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon. He was a valued member of the 174th Attack Wing Operations Group where his contributions to flight operations was highly respected by both his peers and superiors. During his career he was a defender in Security Forces and an electrician in Civil Engineering. Throughout his career he was a dedicated member to the 174th Honor Guard and Base Combined Arms team and has numerous awards in each. He participated in Operation Enduring Freedom in Kyrgyzstan. He grew up in Syracuse and graduated from Henninger High School. Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 from 4-7pm at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home, 3111 James Street, Syracuse. The funeral mass will be held at 10:30am Monday, July 18, 2016 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 3127 James Street, Syracuse. Interment will follow in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
